LightMake L4: 4-Head Color 3D Printer
Four toolheads, sixteen colors, one print. A desktop printer that stops making you choose between speed and color.
We built the L4 because color printing has always been a compromise: either you buy four machines, or you spend a week purging filament. The L4 swaps toolheads in under nine seconds and keeps all four loaded, so a single print can move from matte black to translucent orange without a purge tower in sight.
Under the hood it is a CoreXY frame with linear rails, automatic bed leveling and a sealed chamber that holds 60°C. The firmware is open, the slicer profiles are open, and every part we can print, we print — which is how we kept the price to a third of the nearest four-material machine.
We are a team of six in Lisbon. The tooling is paid for, the injection molds are cut, and we are using this campaign to fund the first production run and the certification testing.
